To the homepage of the Northampton Area of the MX-5 Owners Club. As a club we organise and take part in a wide range of events and activities, both locally and nationally, all of which are well supported.

From March to November there are Sunday lunch drives organised, these drives take in some of the best roads and scenery in Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas. The lunch stop is made at a different pub every month, where a table will have been reserved for the group. Suggestions for pubs and/or drives are always welcome, as are volunteers to organise a run.

Throughout the year we join up with other regional MX-5 clubs at national events, such as the Spring and National Rallies, as well as smaller events such as the Middle England day out and the six area lunch.

Other annual events include: our annual fish and chip run to the sea side, club BBQ, Kimbolton Classic Car Show and our Christmas party.

Proposed events for the next 12 months range from track days to brewery visits, with skid pan training and technical days (how to change oil/brake pads etc) for those who would like to learn more about their cars.

We have close links with the Phoenix Fives and the Milton Keynes Area, we also hope to hold lots of joint events with other area groups throughout the year.

The best places to find details of events are our forum or our online calendar. For driving events the convoy normally starts at either Sixfields or The Royal Oak at Walgrave.

Our Members

Members come from all walks of life, the common factor being the MX5.

Our Area Coordinators

Northampton are lucky to have 2 area coordinators, Ken Stanbury and Lewis Craik.

Ken is the proud owner of two 1.6 MK1 MX5s. He's owned Black Bess for 8 years - she is his "daily driver" and has clocked up 100,000 miles, never missing a beat. 2 years ago he bought 92black from a fellow Owners Club member; this car is a Limited Edition 1992 S-Special, imported from Japan in 2002. He like black cars, and keeping them shiny! Ken has been a member of the National OC and the local club for 6 years, and Joint Co-ordinator since January 2007.

Lewis is a relatively new face in the club, having only bought his silver mk1 in August 2005. Within the first 12 months of ownership he added 20,000 miles to the clock, only a handful of those with the roof up. Lewis is the forum admin and in 2007 will be competing in the MX-5 class of the Aldon HSA Speed Championship.
